Journey to Health ~ Recipes ~ Sweet Potato French Fries
To start us off on our weight loss friendly recipe journey we have a delicious alternate for french fries, sweet potato fries, if you are on Nutrisystem these count as 1 smart carb, you should have 2 smart carbs a day! This recipe yields two servings so increase or decrease based on how much you need, 1 potato per person.
Ingredients

2 small sweet potatoes or yams

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. nutmeg, ground

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/8 tsp. black pepper (optional)
Directions

Preheat oven to 400F

Clean, peel, and cut potatoes or yams into strips, place the strips into a bowl of cold water for 10 minutes

strain potatoes and pat dry, then place them back into the now empty bowl

spray potatoes lightly with the spray and toss to coat them

in another bowl mix all the spices
-
sprinkle the mix over the potatoes and toss to coat
-
cook the potatoes for 30 to 35 minutes or until they begin to crisp on the edge

My husband and I just picked our sweet potatoes.. im going to try this recipe out tomorrow night for dinner.
